PSGCNJ TECH TIP
How Do I Get My Business Card Posted On the
PSGCNJ Web Site
(the Employers side of the site)
The menu of the “Employers” side of our web site has a link to a collection of business cards from our members. If you are a PSGCNJ member and would like your business card(s) added to this collection, here’s how:
Either:
- Hand your business card to Craig Uthe at a general membership meeting (if he’s present and available that day), or mail it to him. (If necessary to reduce scanning side-effects, he’ll use a “descreen” option even though that makes it fuzzier.)
Or for better quality . . .
- Email an image of your business card in .jpg format (or a MS Word .doc file containing the layout of your business card) to the Technology Committee website manager at webmaster@psgcnj.org
- An original digital image file is best if you have it, but
even a copy from your screen is usually better than scanning a
card. You can create a copy from your screen by bringing up an
image of your business card on our screen and then either:
- Right-click on the image and choose “Save picture as …” to save a copy to your PC desktop or elsewhere, or …
- With the image in the active window, hold down the Alt key and press the Prtsc (print screen) key that is usually located to the right of the F12 key. That saves an image of the whole window to an invisible “clipboard.” Then open up the Windows accessory application called Paint
(EITHER Start menu
All Programs & Accessories(?)
Paint;
OR
Start menu
type Paint in the search box and click Paint in the
results,
OR Start menu
Run
mspaint.exe).
Then in the Paint program: Edit
Paste (or Ctrl-V) to make the
image appear, and then File
Save as … to save the image as a file
you can attach to an email. (If you know how to crop the image down
to just the business card part before saving it, go ahead; otherwise
just send the image of the whole window and we’ll do it.)
