PSGCNJ Committees
Benefits of joining a Committee:
- Improves self esteem – active participation and positive contribution gives sense of accomplishment
- Improved networking – exposure to new and diverse group of people expands your circle of friends and network
- Staying active – merchandise your volunteer work during an interview
- Improved interviewing skills – helps boost your confidence and sharpens your mind
- Maximized utilization of resources – such as advanced resume review and mock interviews
PSGCNJ Committees
- To remain a member of PSGCNJ, you must volunteer at least three hours of time to PSGCNJ projects or functions through a PSGCNJ Committee of your choice.
- Volunteer hours should be in the presence of other PSG members, either at the DoL facility or off-site in committee meetings.
- The three hours per week does not include attending the general meeting, unless you are making a presentation at the meeting.
We encourage members to volunteer first for the Opportunity Center, because finding job opportunities is the primary focus of PSGCNJ. We also encourage participation in the other committees, which support the career development of current members, continuity of PSG itself and expanded public outreach to local businesses.
